The safety and protection of our members’ health and personal information is a top priority. Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas (BCBSTX) continues to evaluate additional security measures to enhance our robust information security program. In conjunction with the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association, BCBSTX will offer identity protection services to eligible BCBSTX members beginning Jan. 1, 2016.
This protection offer can provide our members peace of mind about the security of their personal and financial information. Eligible BCBSTX members can opt in to receive these services provided by a leading identity protection company and will include:
- Credit monitoring — Monitors for activity that may affect a member’s credit.
- Fraud detection — Attempts to detect potentially fraudulent use of a member’s identity or credit.
- Fraud resolution support — Assists members in addressing issues that arise in relation to credit monitoring and fraud detection.
We understand your customers may have questions about the new service. BCBSTX is working through all of the details of this offering. We will provide more information to eligible members on how to take advantage of this new service in the coming months.
Below are some talking points you can share with your customers:
- Identity protection services will be offered to all eligible BCBSTX members on an opt-in basis beginning Jan. 1, 2016. This offering will be provided by a leading identity protection company and will include:
